I envision a tech which upgrades palisade walls to something a little more robust, something tailored to the architecture sets of each civilization. Shown in order are the Meso-American, West European, Middle-Eastern, East European, East Asian, and Mediterranean architecture sets.

Funny how the Mediterranean one made it into the game eventually (kinda). Would've loved for this to have been a real thing, they are really cool.
